Danielle De Leo - Makeup Artistry

 

My name is Danielle De Leo, and I am a freelance, traveling makeup artist with main area of service in South Florida. I operate out of West Palm Beach, Florida, but I am willing to travel for your special day!  

I’ve been doing makeup for probably about 10 years, but professionally for just over five years.  I’ve always loved creating things – painting, crafting, many failed attempts at sewing. Everyone wants to love their job, but few achieve that goal. A lightbulb eventually went off in my head, “what if I create art, but on a different canvas?”

Once I knew I wanted to take my passion further, I enrolled as Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry in Fort Lauderdale, FL  and obtained a certificate in fashion makeup artistry in 2012. I have since continued working freelance and building my portfolio. I’ve learned a lot by working with brides on their wedding day, mainly how to remain calm (and help others remain calm, too!) in stressful situations. Everything is on a time crunch, and I’ve discovered the best way to work efficiently  yet quickly. But most of all, I’ve found one of the most important things is to make the entire experience fun. (No sense in creating a beautiful face that’s only going to display a pout, is there?)

The most important thing I learned in my years of doing makeup is that it’s meant to be FUN. I want my client to have a blast while I’m doing their makeup, even if it’s something as simple as applying false lashes and shaping your brows. Everybody has beautiful features, and I am just looking to enhance them. My favorite part of my job is when the client sees everything they were imagining in their head, on their face, right in front of their eyes.
